Rajanna-Sircilla police arrested three persons on the charge of hunting wild animals, and seized deer skin as well as 4.5 kg of deer meat and three knives from their possession.

Addressing newsmen on Tuesday, Superintendent of Police Rahul Hegde B.K. said they got a tip-off about some persons assembling in a house in Gaja Singavaram village of Gambhiraopet mandal and being involved in the sale of meat of wild animals. The CCS and Task Force police rushed to the spot and arrested three persons identified as Rayalingu Chandramouli (24), Jelli Srikanth (22) and Shathraveni Harish (23), all hailing from the same village, and seized the deer skin and meat.

The accused confessed to have ventured into the forests with sharp knives, killing the deer, removing its skin and selling the meat on their way to the village. They were planning to sell off the remaining meat of the animal when the police caught them.
