Three child marriages averted

Rachakonda police prevented three child marriages on Wednesday and Thursday.

On a tip-off, the Bhongir SHE team rushed to Dharmaram village of Thurkapally mandal where marriage of a 13-year-old girl was scheduled to be held on Saturday with a 19-year-old person from Bommalaramaram.

Another child marriage was prevented at Mulkapally village of Thurkapally mandal. In this case, marriage of a 17-year-old girl was fixed with a 24-year-old man.

Parents of a 15-year-old girl from Mulkapally village of Thurkapally mandal planned to perform her marriage with man in his mid 20s.

All the three child marriages were prevented through the quick response of the SHE teams, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwat said.
