The Hindu Literary Fest, conducted in association with Vignan’s Foundation, saw overwhelming response from participants at Paramita Heritage School in Karimnagar town on Thursday.
About 1,164 students from 29 educational institutions in the town took part in the day-long session that brought their creativity to the fore.
The oratory skills of primary students had the judges in awe, while they stole their hearts in competitions like storytelling and dramatic book-reading. The high school students staged plays that had their original ideas and writing.
Students and faculty members of Department of English, Satavahana University, were judges for all the competitions held as part of the event.
The chairman of Paramita Educational Institutions, E. Prasada Rao, along with Vignan Foundation representative Commodore C.V. Rao formally inaugurated the literary festival here.
Hidden talent
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prasada Rao thanked The Hindu for organising such an event that helps unravel the talent hidden in students.
Commodore Rao said the students in the town proved that they were second to none in creativity.
Karimnagar Mayor S. Ravinder Singh, who participated in the valedictory function, called upon the students to participate in different competitions to gain experience. “Even if you fail in one competition, you will be better equipped to win some other with the experience of the former,” he said. Later, prizes were given away to all winners in various competitions.
