Talking to reporters at a function here on Wednesday, Mr. Sharma said that there is no Maoist ideology left in the State. “Our policy is very clear; we will not allow them to gain ground. We will not give any scope for them to resurface in the State and any attempts will be effectively foiled,” he said.
To a question on educated youth joining the movement, the DGP said that these are isolated cases. “It is basically because of personal choice that they had joined the movement and there is no recruitment of students,” he said.
In Tuesday’s encounter, a woman Shruthi (23) who had completed her B. Tech was pursuing M. Tech and was killed. In June, Vivek alias Raghu who was pursuing an LLB course was killed in an encounter on Telangana – Chhatisgarh border in Khammam.
He explained that the Maoist ideology was not developing again as being presumed. “There is literally no ideology left there. Only a person’s convictions and reasons are making them join the group,” he said.
