Telangana Election Watch formed to monitor polls

To ensure transparent elections, Telangana Election Watch has been formed comprising representatives from 32 voluntary organisations in the State, said its State convenor Bandaru Rammohan Rao.

Participating in the Karimnagar Election Watch committee meeting here on Sunday, Mr. Rammohan Rao said they would conduct voter awareness meetings, educate people about the affidavits of the contesting candidates, monitor polling and ensure that there was high polling percentage. He said the Telangana Election Watch would extend complete support to the State Election Commission. On the occasion, they also constituted Telangana Election Watch committees for various districts. For Peddapalli district, V. Shankar, S. Venkateshwarlu, S. Laxminarayana and G. Bheemsen have been appointed as convenors.

For Jagtial district, G. Venkatramana, E. Bapu Reddy and L.D. Nethra are convenors and for Rajanna-Sircilla district, Shanta Prakash Shukla, B. Srinivas and K. Laxman would act as convenors. In Karimnagar district, N. Srinivas and Prakash Holla would act as convenors. S Janardhan, T. Laxminarayana, K. Ramachandra Reddy, Syed Muzaffar, K.S. Narayana, R. Chandra Prabhakar and others would act as co-convenors.
