A techie hailing from Karimnagar town, Narahari Bharath Reddy (35), was reportedly killed in a road mishap while he was cycling in Miami on Saturday.

Bharath Reddy, the younger son of Progressive Recognised Teachers’ Union State leader Narahari Laxma Reddy, was a resident of the U.S. since 2006.

He was undergoing practice for a cycling competition, along with his friends, when he fell down and was hit by a truck. He was shifted to hospital immediately, but succumbed to his injuries.

Mr. Bharath Reddy’s wife is a gynaecologist who works in London. He had visited Karimnagar about a year ago to attend his father’s retirement function.

Though the incident took place on Saturday, Mr. Bharath Reddy’s parents were not informed about it immediately.

His elder brother, Kiran Reddy, who lives in Australia, rushed to Karimnagar along with his family members on Tuesday evening. Only then were the parents informed about their younger son’s demise.

Funeral on Friday

On Wednesday, scores of relatives and friends arrived at their residence to console them.

Family members said that Mr. Bharath Reddy’s last rites would be performed on Friday, after his body arrives from Miami.
