TANHA to stop Aarogyasri services

Telangana Aarogyasri Network Hospitals Association (TANHA) members said that they will act on their announcement to withdraw medical services under Aarogyasri Health Scheme (AHS), Employee Health Scheme (EHS), Journalish Health Scheme (JHS) from Thursday mid night. They demanded Aarogasri health Care Trust to clear Rs 1500 dues.

Besides this, they demanded MoU between Aarogyasri Health Care Trust (AHCT) and hospital managements, charges under AHS to be revised.

Around 83.19 lakh families are enrolled under AHS, EHS and JHS. The three schemes are managed by AHCT. Senior officials from the State Health department have invited the association members for talks over the issue on Friday.

While the TANHA members claimed that Rs 1500 crore is due for more than a year, officials said that only Rs 800 crore has to be paid. And of the Rs 800, Rs 300 was cleared to be transferred in the past one week.

However, TANHA president Dr V Rakesh said that Rs 300 is not sufficient to meet expenses to run hospitals.

" Rs 300 crore is only 20 per-cent of the dues. Despite our economical constraints from the past 14 months to 16 months, we provided the services. But we are unable to continue providing treatment under the schemes any more,"Dr Rakesh said.

A total of 242 private hospitals are part of TANHA. Around 14 corporate hospitals have already stopped the services from August 10.
