Tailor ‘molests’ daughter, held

November 29, 2013 01:13 am | Updated November 16, 2021 07:42 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The Bollarum police on Thursday arrested a 45-year-old tailor who had allegedly been sexually assaulting his teenaged daughter in the house for nearly past two years.

The accused would be presented before a local court on Friday.

A criminal case was registered against him after his 14-year-old daughter revealed about the alleged sexual exploitation by her father at an awareness programme on AIDS conducted at the school.

The school authorities approached the child welfare authorities who in turn lodged a complaint with the Bollarum police. The tailor and his wife were living in the house along with their daughter and younger son. His wife used to work as sweeper in a private company.

“For past four years, he reportedly had no conjugal life with his wife as she was suffering from some ailment. According to the teenager, he started sexual exploitation two years ago and repeatedly abused her when she was alone at home,” Bollarum Inspector T. Laxminarayana said.
