Promises fee reimbursement disbursal on time

All India Congress Committee president Rahul Gandhi said Telangana private colleges played a key role in the Telangana movement and their role in building the future of the State was important and promised that the next Congress government would extend all support to them.

Addressing the Convention on KG to PG Recognised Institutions in Telangana State, Mr. Gandhi alleged that the TRS Government was not fair to entrepreneurs from Telangana who set up private educational institutions to serve the rural and semi-urban students mostly. It only favoured corporates. “But Congress believes in fairness,” he said.

He said non-release of fee reimbursement by the TRS Government damaged the institutions and promised that Congress-led government in Telangana would ensure fee reimbursement on time. He said the Congress, in its manifesto, had promised health insurance for staff of recognised private educational institutions.

Mr. Gandhi said electricity tariff would be reasonable and municipal and property tax would be reduced. Their government would also revive scores of minority institutions which were closed due to the wrong policies of the TRS Government. He asked the audience to check his record and said he did not have the habit of lying to people or make false promises.

TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said nearly 46 lakh students studied in private institutions that also provided employment to 5 lakh teaching and non-teaching staff.

However, the KCR Government had humiliated the managements on multiple occasions, sending the police to colleges for seeking fee reimbursement.

Former Chief Minister of Kerela Oman Chandy and TJS president Kodandaram were also present.
