Tech start-up incubator T-Hub and Beanstalk AgTech, a venture builder focusing on high-growth Agricultural Technology (AgTech) companies across the Asia-Pacific region, have joined hands for the Australia-India AgTech Market Access Programme.

Sponsored by the Australian government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the programme, to kickstart in early 2019, aims at solving important agricultural sector problems in both the countries.

T-Hub and Beanstalk AgTech will select 12 best-in-class AgTech start-ups from both countries that can solve agricultural problems of Australia and India respectively using advanced technologies. Their partnership was announced coinciding with the visit of Governor of Victoria Linda Dessau AC to T-Hub on Wednesday.

The Australia-India AgTech Market Access Programme is the first bilateral platform between the two countries that provides a tailored and structured pathway for cross-border growth of AgTech start-ups. “We look forward to growing Victoria’s engagement with T-Hub, starting with the wonderful exchange that will come through the T-Hub/Beanstalk collaboration. Victoria is the AgTech hub of Australia and the opportunity to lift productivity in the agricultural sector through technology can bring benefits to farmers in India, Australia and around the world,” the Governor said.

CEO of T-Hub Srinivas Kollipara said start-ups with brilliant solutions for the agriculture sector and ready to explore a new market would be selected for the programme. According to Beanstalk AgTech co-founder William Taing, the partnership would support high-growth companies to access networks and capability development to ensure their solutions can be localised.
