‘Suicide is not a solution’

The TSRTC Joint Action Committee on Wednesday paid tributes to Avila Naresh, the 45-year-old RTC driver, who reportedly committed suicide and urged the striking workers not to resort to any extreme step.

JAC leaders and supporters converged at the Telangana Mazdoor Union office near Musheerabad and paid tributes to Mr. Naresh.

“Workers have not been paid salary and this is wrong. They are going through a difficult time. We have urged workers that things will be better soon and that they should not take any extreme step. Suicide is not a solution,” TSRTC JAC leader Thomas Reddy said.

He said the strike would continue as planned and that the TSRTC JAC would meet on Thursday at 3 p.m. to discuss various issues and a way forward.

The High Court cases and future events are likely to be the topics of discussion at the meeting.
