A former security supervisor of Jalagam Vengal Rao Park attempted suicide at the chambers of Municipal Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy on Friday, seeking restoration of employment.
N. Surender Reddy poured petrol on his body, and threatened to burn himself if not reinstated. GHMC said he was removed two months ago for allegedly attempting to rape a park visitor, and a case was registered against him in Punjagutta Police Station. After the suicide bid, he was overpowered and handed over to Saifabad police.
