The two power distribution companies of Telangana – TSSPDCL and TSNPDCL – on Tuesday sent 17 truck loads of electrical equipment worth about ₹2.5 crore to Kerala to help restore the power distribution system damaged badly in the recent unprecedented floods there.

According to officials of the power utilities, the equipment comprises 20,000 single-phase energy reading meters and 100 three-phase 100 Kva distribution transformers among others. The trucks carrying the electrical equipment being sent to Kerala were flagged-off by Energy Minister G. Jagadish Reddy.

Chairman and Managing Director of TS-Genco and TS-Transco D. Prabhakar Rao, CMDs of TSSPDCL and TSNPDCL G. Raghuma Reddy and A. Gopal Rao, respectively, Directors of TSSPDCL T. Srinivas and J. Srinivasa Reddy and other officials were present on the occasion.

The employees and pensioners of the four power utilities of the State have already donated their one-day salary/pension amounting to ₹9 crore to the Kerala Flood Relief Fund by handing over the cheque to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on August 21 for forwarding it to Kerala.
