GHMC Standing Committee has given the stamp of approval for the proposal to bring down the security deposit amount for allocation of shops in the model markets to three months’ rent instead of six months.

This is hoped to bring more takers for the 43 model markets, which otherwise are mostly empty for lack of interest from traders.

The Standing Committee approved a total of eight proposals, which include recruitment of 29 private veterinary officers with an honorarium of ₹35,000 per month, and to send proposals for recruitment of 20 engineers on outsourcing basis in the Town Planning wing, to the State government.

One more proposal is to pay a compensation of ₹2 lakh each to the families of the persons who died in compound wall collapse at Amberpet last year, and ₹50,000 to the person injured.
