It is said that highly imaginative and animated stories help children become more creative. But this city start-up believes a realistic and intense story can turn youngsters into good professionals.
Helmed by a bunch of 20-somethings, LearnEd has designed a programme, specifically for those in the age group of 14 to 16 years, to make the right career choice.
Through their Inspiration Infinity programme, more than 500 school students from the twin cities got an opportunity to listen, be awed and interact with niche professionals from various fields like media, medicine, engineering, arts, music, design and others.
32 speakers to connect to kids
Presently, the start-up has a pool of 32 speakers who are selected to engage with the students for a duration ranging from three to six months.
“If we ask 10 kids what they would want to become, each will tell different things. They might have been inspired by movies and parents, or peer pressure. Hence, we decided to make the students listen to established professionals sharing their experiences so that they get the real picture,” said Sriram Kakarla, Product Designing, LearnEd.
“We are targeting class IX and X students for this programme so that they get inspired and take the right career choice at this stage,” he explained. The start-up also helps students get internships or a chance to work with the speakers or the organisations they are affiliated with.
According to founders of the initiative, the programme will help save time and avoid wastage of resources for students and educational institutions due to wrong career decisions.
“LearnEd aims to drive the attitude of learning through every experience via innovative and challenging learning methods and programmes,” said Luvieen Alva, LearnEd’s founder. The start-up plans to expand to other towns in AP and Telangana in the near future.
