Six-hour flight delay irks Chennai-bound passengers

January 06, 2015 01:10 am | Updated 09:31 pm IST - Hyderabad:

Harried passengers entered into repeated arguments with Air India officials after the Chennai-bound flight (AI 982) was inordinately delayed due to malfunctioning of toilets on the A320 aircraft.

The flight was expected to leave Hyderabad at 9.30 a.m. and was rescheduled several times without any reason being given. It finally took off at 3.30 pm.

Earlier, AI officials informed passengers that the delay was due to malfunctioning aboard the aircraft which flew in from Qatar to Ahmedabad. The aircraft landed in Hyderabad and was to take off to Chennai.

Agitated passengers confronted AI officials who pleaded helplessness. But as the protests grew louder, passengers were allowed to board the flight.

AI staff repaired the toilets allowing the flight to take off.
