Six restaurants penalised for lack of hygiene

GHMC levied heavy penalties on six bars/hotels/restaurants in Chandanagar circle on Tuesday, collecting ₹ 2.65 lakh as fine for disregarding hygienic standards in various aspects.

The outlets that have violated norms include Neha Restaurant (₹1,00,000), Tawakkal Restaurant (₹30,000), Rohit Wines (₹50,000), Ganapathi Tiffins (₹10,000), Sai Teja Wines (₹25,000), and Hotel Sankranthi (₹50,000).

They have been charged variedly for serving rotten meat, dumping waste in the drainage system, not maintaining hygiene, not renewing trade licenses, and using banned plastic carry bags, a statement from GHMC informed.
