Six , including two juveniles, held for thefts in Telangana

The Hayathnagar police apprehended six persons, including four juveniles, on Saturday in connection with a string of alleged robberies and cases of extortion. Stolen property worth ₹ 3 lakh was recovered from the possession of the accused.

Police identified the accused as S. Ranjith (19), a degree student, and Md Ameer Khan (20), a private employee. Both are residents of Hayathnagar. They, along with the juveniles, allegedly took to extortion, stealing mobile phones and money at night in order to meet their expenses. Their victims were those sleeping in lorries, cabs and autos. They also took to mobile phone snatching.

The accused were apprehended after police said they were found moving suspiciously in Bhagyalatha Colony. They were questioned after which they are said to have admitted committing the offences.
