The 2×600 mw Singareni Thermal Power Project (STPP) located near Jaipur in Mancherial district has achieved the plant load factor (PLF) of 93.59% in February to remain among the top five coal-based power generating stations in the country with a cumulative PLF of 90.7% in the first 11 months of the current financial year.
It was in the fourth position at the national level till December-end 2017 with a cumulative PLF of 90.19% but improvement of the load factor of some other thermal power stations in the country pushed STPP to fifth position till February-end.
The STPP’s over all PLF has slipped one place in spite of the project achieving improved performance with 90.44% (cumulative) PLF till January-end and 90.7% till February-end.
According to the officials of STPP, the thermal project run by Singareni Collieries Company Ltd has generated 8,725 million units (mu) till February-end and supplied 8,203 mu to the grid. The project has generated a total of 12,974 mu since inception of its first unit (600 mw) in May 2016 and the second unit a few months later and supplied 12,149 mu to the grid.
In the unit-wise performance, the first unit has achieved 93.73% PLF and the second unit 93.44% in February.
