Seven members of inter-State gang held

A seven member inter-State gang involved in burglaries was arrested by the city police on Wednesday.

The accused, Gangavarapu Srihari, Madavath Krishna, Kalapally Babu, Bakka Anjaneyulu, Pilli Ganapathi, Gurthala Venkatesh and Bariti Ramanamurthy formed into a gang, who committed offences in city and different districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The gang members broke into an electronic store at Jagruthi Electronics in Tirumulgherry, a fortnight ago and made away with a laptop and mobile phone.

“The offenders moved around in auto-rickshaws and selected shops that did not have central locking system and closed circuit cameras,” DCP (North) N. Prakash Reddy said.
