Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Hansraj Gangaram Ahir has said that artisan skills specific to women which could have prevented many farmers’ suicide had become extinct now and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had introduced the ‘Mudra Bank’ scheme precisely to revive the skills and arrest the influx of Chinese goods into the market.

Addressing a sensitisation programme for women organised by BJP president G. Kishan Reddy in his constituency, Amberpet, Mr. Mahir said the ‘Mudra ’scheme would be of much help as it is meant for bringing down unemployment.

He urged the women cadre to work actively for the party’s victory in the ensuing elections for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Warangal Lok Sabha constituency. Women must enter politics and don leadership roles, he said, and added that it is crucial for strengthening democracy.

Later, he, along with Mr. Reddy participated in ‘Bathukamma’ festivities.
