SCCL’s Jaipur plant ranked 5th in the country

Records highest plant load factor

For the second consecutive year, the thermal power plant of Singareni Collieries Company Limited in Jaipur mandal of Mancherial district has been ranked fifth in the country in terms of highest plant load factor (PLF).

The plant registered PLF of 91.74% during the three months period between April and July and stood at the fifth position out of the 25 plants surveyed at the national level. The Jaipur power plant stood fifth in the financial year 2017-18 too with PLF of 91.09% while it was ranked fourth in the country with 90.18% PLF for the nine months between April and December the same fiscal. The SCCL owned power plant produced 3,223 million units of power during the first four months of the current fiscal thereby registering 91.74% PLF. Of the total power generated, 3,038 million units were supplied for the State’s requirements through the power grid network at Gajwel. Budge power plant of West Bengal was ranked first with 96.46% PLF and Talcher power plant was second with 96.30% PLF during the period. SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N. Sridhar complimented the staff of the power utility for achieving national level ranking for the second year in row and wanted them to strive to get the top rank in the coming days. The plant, according to an official release, had been steadily registering impressive results since its inception with the SCCL top brass headed by Mr. Sridhar constantly monitoring its functioning.

The Jaipur plant registered over 100% PLF in February last with its second unit registering over 100% PLF several times. The Unit I on its part achieved over 100% PLF five times since the inception of the plant in 2017. The plant had so far registered generation of 26,266 million units of power since its inception of which, 24,688 million units had been supplied to the grid for the State’s requirements, the release added.
