Sangeet Natak Akademi Award to UoH professor

It is the highest national recognition conferred on performing artists.

Ramalinga Sastry, a professor at Department of Dance at University of Hyderabad (UoH), is among the 44 artistes announced as winners for their overall contribution to performing arts by Sangeet Natak Akademi.

The Sangeet Natak Akademi Puraskar (Akademi Award) is the highest national recognition conferred on performing artists. Prof. Sastry has been working at University of Hyderabad for the past two decades imparting training in Bharatanatyam to students.
