The gradual rise in temperatures continued in almost all the places in the State with a few places in Telangana region registering the maximum temperatures that ranged between 39 and 40 degree Celsius. According to Hyderabad MET officials, the temperatures will continue to rise and by May, severe heat wave conditions will prevail, mostly in Telangana and Rayalseema regions.
The weathermen have also forecasted brief spells of thundershowers accompanied by lightning in Telangana and Rayalaseema districts in the coming days when temperatures increase by a degree or two. “With the increase in temperatures, thundershowers and lightning conditions could prevail. It is a natural phenomenon. By and large, however, temperatures will definitely start rising in all the districts,” said Assistant Meteorologist, IMD, Hyderabad, M. Narasimha Rao.
On Wednesday, the maximum temperature in Hyderabad was 36.4 degree Celsius, while Bhadrachalam recorded the maximum temperature of 40 degree followed by Mahabubnagar, Anantapur and Kurnool which recorded 39 degree Celsius. According to IMD officials, Nandyal, Tirupati and Rentachintala recorded 38 degree Celsius.
Weather officials said that traditionally maximum temperatures in Rentachintala and Kothagudem will hover between 46 and 47 degree Celsius during summer. “Every year, these two places usually record the maximum temperatures and this year too there will be no difference. The temperatures in other places in the districts will hover between 43 and 46 degree Celsius,” Mr. Narasimha Rao said.
