Revised schedule of SSR of electoral rolls announced

Integrated draft electoral roll to be published on December 16

Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar announced revised schedule of the special summary revision (SSR) of photo electoral rolls in the State with January 1 as the qualifying date.

Accordingly, the electors’ verification and other pre-revision activities, including rationalisation of polling stations, would be taken up to November 30 and this would be followed by publication of integrated draft electoral roll on December 16. Electors would be given a month’s time subsequently to file their claims and objections till January 15 and the election authority would dispose them of by January 27.

Preparation of supplements would be taken up on February 4 and the final publication of the electoral rolls would be on February 7. The Chief Electoral Officer exhorted eligible citizens, who attain 18 years of age as on January 1 next year, to file their applications for enrolment, objections and correction. This would be followed by house-to-house visits by booth-level officers (BLOs) with pre-filled registers for verification.

The Electoral Verification Programme, he said, was meant for improvement of the health of electoral rolls and enrolment of eligible citizens through the SSR 2020 by verification/authentication of electors details through crowd-sourcing and through field inputs by the BLOs, websites of the CEO’s office (www.ceotelangana.nic.in) and national voters’ services portal (www.nvsp.in).

Voters can submit officially approved documents like passport, driving licence, Aadhaar card and others for authentication of their details.

They would also be allowed to submit verified documents from digilocker for which provision has been made in the prescribed digital platforms, the CEO said.
