Rescued children being sent back to their homes

The State government has started sending back the children who were rescued from bangle-making workshop and others in Hyderabad in the last 10 days.

Around 400 children hailing from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal were rescued during raids conducted by the city police and Labour Department officials in different parts of the city. A large number of children were rescued from the old city. On Wednesday, about hundred children were sent to Bihar by Secunderabad–Patna Express. Officials of Women and Child Welfare Department, Crime Investigation Department (CID) Hyderabad city police and government railway police escorted them. A total of 282 children have been identified to be sent back to their respective places and eighty two of them have already been sent on Tuesday. District Child Protection Officer, Md Imtiyaz Raheem, said the team of officials accompanying these children will hand them over to Bihar officials and also assist them in their rehabilitation.
