As part of its corporate social responsibility program, Forum Sujana Mall in Kukatpally here conducted a ‘Purple Run’ to create awareness about Alzheimer’s disease.

The run commenced and concluded at the mall. It went on the main road covering Cyber Tower junction, Trident Hotel, IKEA, Biodiversity Park and Gachibowli Stadium. About 1,600 persons participated in the run.

Speaking on the occasion, cluster head of Forum Hyderabad, Chennai, and Udaipur, Tanveer Shaikh said the second edition of Purple Run on Sunday was held to raise awareness about one of the leading causes of death in India, and that donations collected through the run would be sent to National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bengaluru.

The run was conducted in four categories - 3 km (Family Run), 5 km, 10 km and the half marathon distance of 21 km. Cash prizes worth ₹2.5 lakh and gift hampers were given to the winners.
