Khammam, historically known as the epicentre of valiant struggles against tyranny, will host a massive public meeting of the grand alliance to be addressed jointly by Congress president Rahul Gandhi and the TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu here on November 28, said Telangana Congress campaign committee chairman Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

Talking to newsmen along with the TDP Polit Bureau member and the grand alliance (Congress-TDP-CPI-TJS) joint candidate for the Khammam Assembly seat Nama Nageswara Rao here on Monday, Mr Vikramarka said the meeting will be attended by all the top leaders of the grand alliance partners.

Mr Rahul Gandhi and Mr Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, will address the public meeting to be held at 2 p.m. at the sprawling SR&BGNR college grounds here on Wednesday, he said.

The meeting will herald a new chapter in the State and national-level politics and serve as a platform for all the democratic and secular forces to strive collectively to end the "dictatorial regimes" in the State and the Centre, he said.

Terming the upcoming grand alliance public meeting as a historic milestone, Mr Nageswara Rao said both Mr Rahul Gandhi and Mr Naidu will set the tone for victory of the grand alliance against the “authoritarian dispensation” in the polls.

CPI national general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, the Telangana Jana Samiti president M Kodandaram, among a galaxy of top leaders of all the four parties of the grand alliance will attend the public meeting.
