Rachakonda police solve 50% of cases

Rachakonda police have been unable to detect even 50% of the house burglary (HB) cases registered in the last six months. Statistics show 254 cases of house break by night and 95 house break during day were registered of which police were able to detect only 115 and 39 cases respectively. Out of 34 snatching cases only 11 cases were solved.

When contacted Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh M. Bhagwat said the investigation is under way and the pending cases will be solved soon. “So far, 1,241 cases of various crimes, including dacoity, robbery, murder for gain and automobile thefts were registered and the police detected 626 cases,” he said.

He added that over ₹6.42 crore of property was lost in the offences and they recovered ₹2.81 crore.

Last year, over 728 cases of HB night and 182 cases of HB day were reported and the Rachakonda police were able to solve only 359 cases HB night and 98 cases of HB day. The police registered 3,002 cases in 2017 and detected 1,525 cases in which the property lost was over ₹23.39 crore and the cops recovered about ₹10.93 crore and the crime detection and recovery percentage was 51 % and 47 % respectively.

Mr. Bhagwat said in the last six months, the traffic police registered 1,269 drunk driving cases in day and 4,652 cases in night.
