‘Culprits yet to be nabbed even though the crime was committed a month ago’

On a nation-wide call given by National Solidarity Committee for Justice to Gouri Lankesh, members of different civil society groups, organisations and individuals staged a protest at Ambedkar statue on Tank Bund here against the killing of journalist Gouri Lankesh in Bengaluru.

Sakshi daily Editorial Director K. Ramachandra Murthy regretted that the incident took place nearly a month ago but the culprits were not brought to book. He highlighted repeated incidents of this nature in the form of killing of rationalist Dabholkar and writer Govind Pansare in Maharashtra and Prof. Kalbhurgi in Karnataka earlier.

The gathering was also addressed by Mana Telangana Editor K. Srinivas Reddy, retired professors P.L. Visweswara Rao, Padmaja Shah and Sushie Taru, writer Olga, Ms. Lalita of Anveshi women’s study centre and V. Sandhya of Progressive Organisation for Women.
