Progress Software is inviting applications from start-ups for its incubator programme. It is open to all start-ups and university students across India with a business app idea in a prototype stage.

Five teams will be selected for the six-month programme that begins on November 1. The last date for applying (online at www.progress.com/incubator) is October 25.

A release from the company said that this was the second edition of the programme and the participants get access to Progress’ application development and deployment platforms besides data connectivity solutions for free.

Work space and access to mentors with extensive market and domain expertise will be provided. Introduced last year as a pilot project, five early stage start-ups participated.

Apart from the physical space and access to leading-edge technology, Progress assists the start-ups in connecting with the Hyderabad entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The programme, the release said, supports the Telangana Government’s efforts to make Hyderabad the start-up capital of India.

Vice President-Products and Managing Director of Progress India Ramesh Loganathan said: “With this initiative we are trying to provide a nurturing ground for very early stage start-ups which otherwise at this stage do not get any concrete support.”
