Renewable energy should be prioritised over any other form of energy, said Governor for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, E S L Narasimhan, at Telangana State Energy Conservation awards function held here on Thursday. Mr. Narasimhan said “drastic measures should be taken to implement solar panelling” in all establishments in Telangana. Creating awareness and making requests to establishments will not always be very effective.

‘Serve notices’

“Establishments which do not take up solar panelling should be served notices,” said Mr. Narasimhan. Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation should oversee this effort, he added.

Mr. Narasimhan also asked TSREDCO officers to make its office building solar powered.

Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TSREDCO) is the State Designated Agency nominated by government of Telangana to implementing all the energy conservation programmes in the State.

At the event N. Janaiah, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of TSREDCO, G.
