President Pranab Mukherjee has given his assent to the Land Acquisition Bill passed by Telangana Legislature with changes suggested by the Centre last month.
Senior officials said formalities connected with notifying the Bill remained before it became an Act.
The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Telangana Amendment) Act, 2016, was initially passed by both Houses of legislature in December and was referred to the Centre for presidential assent.
