PRC scales for power staff

January 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:07 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Telangana State’s Minister for Power C. Laxma Reddy has announced implementation of 10th Pay Revision Commission’s recommendations for the power sector employees.

Mr. Laxma Reddy made this announcement at the inaugural function of the building for the Telangana State Electricity Assistant Engineers Association here on Monday, and said an order would be issued to this effect on the same night. Though government had already been announced PRC for the power utilities, including TSGenco, TSTransco, TSSPDCL and TSNPDCL, it was kept pending as period for revision was fixed at five years on a par with the other government employees, instead of the four years fixed earlier for power utilities. The Energy Department is also learnt to have fixed certain targets for the employees, which was opposed by the latter. The fresh PRC would be implemented with a revision period of four years, representatives of the association said.

Dr. Reddy asked discom officials to clear the 80,000 pending applications for new agricultural connections in one year, and see that each application after that is cleared as soon as it is made.

Officials told to get cracking

He also asked officials to release transformers as soon as a request is made, as many farmers are found to be running from pillar to post for the same. CMD, TSSPDCL G. Raghuma Reddy assured moral support for the AE cadre employees, and said 150 disciplinary cases have been disposed of after he assumed office. Balance would be disposed of soon.

Recruitments for AE posts and transfer of section officers would be done after the employee bifurcation between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and special grade increments would be implemented soon, he said. He assured that those working in rural areas would be transferred to GHMC upon request, but only during May-June. CMD of TSGenco and TSTransco D. Prabhakar Rao spoke at the event. Diary and calendars of the association were released on the occasion.
