The heavy rain that lashed the city from the evening hours on Monday has resulted in breakdown in power supply at several areas due to trees and branches falling on the electrical conductor (cables) and also water logging around the electrical installations such as distribution transformers.

According to officials of the Souther Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd (TSSPDCL), power supply was interrupted at Saifabad, Begum Bazar, Asmangadh, Charminar, Sainkipuri, Saroornagar, Rajendranagar, Ibrahimpatnam, Attapur and a few other feeders. The teams to attend breakdowns, disaster management gangs, have been pressed into service to restore power supply wherever possible.

Chairman and Managing Director of TSSPDCL G. Raghuma Reddy stated that the disaster management teams were already on the filed to remove electrical conductors snapped and fell on roads and also removal of tree branches from the power cables. A control room was also operational to receive power supply related complaints due to the heavy rain.

The control room numbers are 73820 72104, 73820 71574, 73820 72106 and 94906 19846.
