October 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A dispute over repayment of Rs. 45,000 resulted in the murder of a mason Venkat Rao (35), reported at Jalpally tank in Pahadishareef ten days ago.

Venkat Rao lived along with his wife at Uddamgadda in Mailardevpally for the last seven years. “Venkat worked for a contractor T. Venkateshwarlu and took about Rs. 45,000 as loan from him. However, he did not repay it resulting in disputes between them,” Inspector Pahadishareef, V. Chalapatti said.

On October 16, Venkateshwarlu along with his friends Ateen Chary (29), Ramu S (26) and G Suresh (24) took Venkat to Jalpally tank on pretext of a liquor party.

“The gang then strangulated and hit him with a hammer on his chest that resulted in his death. Later, they threw the body at an isolated place near the Jalpally tank and fled,” the Inspector explained.
