‘Police Raj’ in TS: BJP MLA

July 15, 2018 10:48 pm | Updated 10:48 pm IST - HYDERABAD

BJP’s Uppal MLA N.V.S.S. Prabhakar on Sunday said that the Telangana State has turned into a ‘Police Raj’ where personal freedom and liberty has been scuttled and the democratic right to protest is crushed. He accused the police of hatching a conspiracy in putting him under house arrest and preventing him from taking out a rally in support of the externed Swami Paripoornananda.

Taking to presspersons at the party office, he claimed that the basic human rights were being violated in the State especially in the city with the police coming down hard on organisations taking up any protest programmes. He challenged the police to similarly act tough against those making hate speeches and on the ruling party leaders who already have had cases foisted against them.

The MLA said he would soon met Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, explain the present situation with him and take out the rally after taking his consent.
