Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir described the fast undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as pot calling the kettle black.
In a statement here, he said the Bharatiya Janata Party’s nation-wide campaign of dharnas and relay hunger strikes was yet another political gimmick to fool the people and pass the buck.
The BJP strategy to blame the Congress for all of its failures will not be believed by the people, he said.
He said Parliament was stalled by partners of the NDA like the AIADMK, Telugu Desam Party and Telangana Rashtra Samithi who had caused chaos in the well of the House and the Prime Minister was silent all through the Budget Session of 23 working days and not made any efforts to bring normalcy.
The BJP government was apprehensive of burning issues like Central Board of Secondary Education paper leak and Bank scams being raised in Parliament, apart from the fact that the Congress had come out in support of the critical public demands for Special Status to Andhra Pradesh and the Cauvery water issue, he said.
