Petrol, diesel cost less

October 03, 2017 11:53 pm | Updated 11:54 pm IST - HYDERABAD

Petrol and diesel will cost ₹2.66 and ₹2.44 less per litre respectively on Wednesday in the city.

According to Indian Oil Corporation, a litre of unbranded petrol will cost ₹72.40 as against the ₹75.06 at which it was dispensed on Tuesday. Unbranded diesel will cost ₹61.81 (₹64.25).

The revision follows the Centre on Tuesday announcing a reduction of ₹2 per litre in the basic excise duty on petrol as well as diesel with effect from October 4. From June 16 this year, prices of the fuel are subject to daily revision as opposed to the previous system of fortnightly change.
