Party time for baboon!

As part of Vanya Prani Saptah, Nehru Zoological Park celebrates the 30th birthday of 'sacred baboon'

For Shiva, the sacred baboon, it was time to celebrate his 30{+t}{+h}birthday and the Nehru Zoological Park staff and visitors joined in for the occasion on Thursday.

As part of the Vanya Prani Saptah celebrations, the zoo staff organised the birthday celebrations of the baboon in which Principle Chief Secretary (Environment), Rajeswar Tiwari and Principle Chief Conservator of Forests, P.K. Sharma, took part.

During his visit to the zoo, Mr. Tiwari also inaugurated the souvenir shop and ‘vrukhsa prasadam’ in the form of free distribution of plants such as ‘tulasi’, ‘usiri’ and ‘parijatam. Competitive events in drawing/painting, quiz, elocution and photography were also conducted in which 300 students from different schools participated, according to a press release.
