Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has constituted a committee of Ministers to examine the issues raised by State government employees.

The committee comprising Finance Minister Eatala Rajender, Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao and Energy Minister G. Jagadish Reddy has been asked to hold discussions with the Telangana Gazetted Officers and Non-Gazetted Officers associations on the demands raised by them. The first meeting of the committee will be held in Secretariat on Friday.

The development comes in the light of submission of charter of 18 demands by the employees under the aegis of the Joint Action Committee of Telangana Employees, Gazetted Officers, Teachers, Pensioners and Workers. The employees are demanding among other things constitution of the 11th pay revision commission, abolition of contributory pension and restoration of old pension scheme.

The employees are firm that the government announce a new transfer policy at the earliest lifting ban on transfers so that general transfers at different levels could be made before the commencement of the new academic year. They demanded that the government initiate steps to bring back employees of Telangana origin working in Andhra Pradesh because of the irregular allocation by the Kamalanathan committee.

The employees also raised issues pertaining to “order to serve” method introduced for the employees working in districts post-reorganisation. The government should instead take steps for permanent allocation of employees among the newly constituted districts, they said.
