June 29, 2015 04:42 pm | Updated 04:42 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Out of 88,417 candidates who had appeared for OUCET-2015, the entrance test for admission into various PG and PG Diploma courses of Osmania University, 83,098 (93.98 per cent) have managed to qualify.

The results and subject wise ranks will be available on the University website (www.osmania.ac.in) from Monday evening, OU Registrar E. Suresh Kumar said. The results will also be available for download at www.ouadmissions.com

This year, the counselling for admission into various colleges under the OU will be done through web counselling, which means aspiring students will have to enter their preference of colleges online. The certificate verification process before admissions will be taken up in the second week of July while details on when to conduct the web counselling is still being worked out.

“By the first week of July, we should be able to issue a notification on web counselling. While the number of students who have qualified in the entrance test is huge, it however, does not guarantee them a seat because it depends on the rank and available number of seats,” said professor Suresh Kumar, after releasing the OUCET results on Monday.

The OU authorities clarified that individual rank cards will not be posted and eligible candidates had been advised to visit the university website and download the same before they appear for certificate verification. Interestingly, the qualification percentage of girls (93.99 per cent) and boys (93.98 per cent) was almost the same.

This year, under OUCET, applications were invited for 52 courses consisting of 39 PG, 10 PG diploma and three five-year integrated courses. “In PG and PG diploma courses, we left out eight courses and three five-year integrated courses because we did not get the mandatory number of applications for the courses from students,” the Registrar said.
