Officials told to roll out self-employment schemes for BCs, MBCs

CM directs opening of more BC welfare residential schools

Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed the officials to commence programmes for providing financial assistance to Backward Classes and Most Backward Classes for starting self-employment units.

The government was ready to implement the report given by the Cabinet Sub Committee for formulating self employment programmes for the BCs and MBCs, Mr. Rao said at an official meeting to review various welfare programmes of the government on Friday.

He asked officials to take steps to start 119 new BC Residential Schools in addition to the existing ones in each Assembly segment from next years. Also from next year, a nursery should be set up in every village with the target of planting 100 crore saplings under Haritha Haram programme. The ministers and officials should meet in the presence of Speaker Madhusudhana Chary to finalise the implementation of schemes meant for BCs and MBCs on Saturday

Expressing his happiness over 19.83 % revenue growth rate in the first quarter of financial year 2018-19, the Chief Minister said that the government was ready to implement the report given by the Cabinet Sub Committee for formulating self employment programmes for the BCs and MBCs.

He said that without depending on the banks, units worth Rs.1 lakh to Rs.2 lakh should be sanctioned to beneficiaries and directed the officials to give 100 per cent grant to them.

The residential schools started for SC, ST, BC and Minorities were giving impressive results and the government was in favour of setting up one residential school at every mandal. As part of this objective, the number of residential schools would be increased in phases. From next year, one new residential school in every assembly constituency should be started.

Reviewing the revenue growth, he said the State earned ₹16,026.63 crore revenue in the first quarter of current fiscal as against ₹13,374.25 crore of corresponding period in 2017-18.
