NRI’s bag stolen from lodge in KPHB

Three gold rings, $7,500, documents taken away from the victim, who was asleep

A bag containing three gold rings, 7,500 US dollars and other documents belonging to a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) was stolen from a lodge at Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) Colony on Thursday.

The NRI from West Indies, Sridhar, came to the city two days ago and checked into Sitara Lodge to meet his son, who is pursuing Intermediate in a corporate college in KPHB Colony. He was asleep when unidentified persons entered his room by removing the window panes and stole the bag, the police said.

The theft came to light when Sridhar woke up in the morning and found the bag missing from the room, said KPHB Detective Inspector M. Surender Goud.

He said clues team was pressed into service to collect more evidence from the lodge.

Based on Sridhar’s complaint, the police booked a theft case under Section 380 of IPC and took up investigation.
