He had already crossed the double century of burglaries and was still trying to improve the score. Thirty-year-old Kalya Vijaya Simha, accused of breaking into more than 200 houses, was arrested by the Cyberabad police on Monday. Gold and silver jewellery along with a laptop, all worth Rs. 23.63 lakh, were recovered from him, Cyberabad Crimes DCP B. Naveen Kumar said at a press conference.

Simha hailing from Bengaluru had committed burglaries in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He was arrested several time earlier but continued to indulge in breaking into houses after coming out of prison.

Last time, the Musheerabad police arrested him in 2013. After being released from jail in August, 2014, he committed eight more house-breakings by day in Vanasthalipuram, Shamshabad, S.R. Nagar, Begumpet and Kanchanbagh.

On a tip-off, the Vanasthalipuram Central Crime Station sleuths nabbed him.
