Thirty orphan children had their dream come true when they got a chance to fly on Saturday. Megha Turbo Airways, a regional airline services company that runs TruJet, took them on a complimentary air travel to Kadapa on the occasion of Republic Day as part of its ‘Wings of Hope’ programme. The initiative aims to boost the morale of the children, particularly the orphans.
Taken up in association with Ashrita Foundation, Charminar, and Rainbow Foundation, Gajularamaram, the trip also involved a visit to a few tourist places free of cost, said a press release from the airline.
What was worth the effort was children’s eagerness to get into the aircraft. Their excitement when the flight took off was quite palpable. Vaishnavi, a class IX student, said her joy was boundless as her dream of travelling in a flight at least once in her lifetime came true.
Noel, a class IV student, said he was scared a little, but was happy at the same time to travel in a plane.
TruJet had also organised special vehicles for children to visit important tourist places in Kadapa, including Pushpagiri and Gandikota.
