Amid furious speculation in a section of the media, the TDP leaders have reiterated that the Cash for Vote episode was a political conspiracy hatched by the TRS and YSR Congress and there was there was no question of accepting any ``notices’’ if any served by the Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau on the Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu.
In case the ACB indeed would go ahead and serve notices despite the fact that it has no jurisdiction nor powers, AP Government would respond in similar fashion and serve notices on TRS Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhara Rao for his ‘role’ in the conspiracy and phone tapping, said AP Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.
“We will not precipitate the situation by being the first one to serve the notice on TRS government. But if they decide to do so, we will respond swiftly,” he said. Phone tapping was a serious offence which resulted in the collapse of State Governments in the past, he said.
Earlier in the day Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting with the available Ministers to discuss the developments in the Cash for Vote case.
The meeting felt that it was untenable for the Telangana Government to misuse its police force to spy on AP government and they should press for implementation of Section 8 that vested special powers to Governor to maintain law and order in the common capital of Hyderabad where both the governments have equal powers for 10 years
“ We had been patient in the last one year even as TRS government violated the provisions of the Act as we did not want to create animosities between people of two States and wanted to focus on development. But after phone tapping came to light, we will have AP police to provide security to the Chief Minister, Ministers and Government offices,” Minister Atchannaidu said. If required AP Government will set up its own police stations in Hyderabad, he added.
Referring to Telangana DGP and CP raising objections with the Governor about AP’s decision to deploy its own police in Hyderabad, Mr.Atchannaidu said when Telangana government took Governor’s powers into their own hands and blackmailed AP government by using ACB, they had no other alternative.
Taking strong exception to false campaign in social media, electronic and print media and even by some media persons, he said they would take action as per the law. Responding to a question, he said they were only pressing for implementing Section 8 of Act and not for changing the Governor.
‘Misleading information’
Dismissing the day-long speculation and ‘misleading information’ in the electronic and social media that the Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau will be serving notices on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his alleged role in the cash-for-vote controversy, AP Ministers maintained that the ACB has no jurisdiction or power to serve notices on Mr. Naidu.
