No place for violence in democracy, say Ministers

‘Any issues should be brought to the notice of higher officials and not by assaulting employees’

Several Ministers expressed their shock over the brutal attack on Abdullapurmet Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy in Rangareddy district and condemned the incident here on Monday.

Education Minister P. Sabitha Reddy said stern action should be taken against the accused. If there is any issue, the aggrieved should bring it to the notice of higher officials and resolve it, but should not assault the employees, she added.

She later went to the incident site and spoke to the officers there and sought details.

Telangana IT and Industry Minister K.T. Rama Rao has tweeted and also gave a statement that he was shocked beyond words.

He said such inhuman attack, no matter what the unresolved issue was, was reprehensible and it has no place in a democracy.

He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family of Vijaya Reddy and said the government would take stern action against the accused.

Roads and Buildings Minister V. Prashant Reddy said the government would take stern action against the accused and expressed his sorrow that Vijaya Reddy had two young children and conveyed his condolences.

Minister for Excise, Tourism and Culture V. Srinivas Goud, Forest and Endowment Minister Indrakaran Reddy condemned the incident and said public grievances could not be solved through violent acts.

If there was any problem, it should be brought to the notice of higher officials. Those behind the dastardly act would not be spared, they said and expressed their condolences to the family members of the deceased Tahsildar.

Tribal Welfare and Woman and Child Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod and State Agriculture Minister S. Niranjan Reddy condemned the incident and said the government would not tolerate persons resorting to such brutal attacks.

They conveyed their condolences to the members of the bereaved family.

Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy described the attack on Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy as brutal and said the government under no circumstances would tolerate such persons who were a blot on the civil society.
