The State Government has decided to introduce new policy relating to sale and purchase of agricultural lands to enable hassle-free transactions and avoid difficulties to people.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said the land purification programme launched by the Government would be completed by December 31 and new passbooks would be issued to land-owners from January 1.

New records

Banks should thereafter base their transactions, including sanction of loans, on the new records, facilitating a farmer-friendly atmosphere.

The Chief Minister held a meeting with State-level bankers and Agriculture department officials where he said there would not be any need to mortgage passbooks with banks as was being done now for raising loans.

Loan waiver

Banks should also ensure that letters relating to loans of farmers that had been waived as part of the loan waiver scheme were given to farmers. Farmers were being organised and reforms were being introduced in the registration system and the bankers should come forward to help farmers. He also held discussions on the effect of demonetisation and the impact of the GST with bankers. Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma, and Chief Secretary S.P. Singh were present, according to an official release.
