New GM for SCR takes charge

Ravindra Gupta, formerly Chief Mechanical Engineer, Western Railway, Mumbai, late on Wednesday evening, assumed charge as General Manager of the South Central Railway, ostensibly on a ‘remote mode’, that is, while not being physically present.

An officer of the 1975 batch of Special Class Apprentice (SCA), his academic recognitions include the distinction of a Gold Medal for being first in AMIE (Mechanical Engineering). Beginning his career as Assistant Mechanical Engineer (Diesel) at Itarsi, he has held several important positions in a 34 year-long career.

Earlier, after P.K. Srivastava demitted office as GM, SCR on June 30, P.K. Saxena, GM, South Western Railway, held charge as GM of SCR till this evening, a press release said.
